Hi there!

Welcome to our new blog! Stay awhile, hangout and celebrate the wonderful world of cosplay with us.

Most of my posts will be ideas and inspiration on what we are calling, FandomBound Fridays. This whole "FandomBound" idea started because my husband, Skyler (aka Cosplay Apprentice--check him out on YouTube) and I felt like we weren't getting enough cosplay in our lives. He works full time as a graphic designer and I'm Mom'in-it with three small kids all day. Plus we run Cosplay Apprentice by night: a YouTube channel, product line, and website. We're busy people who just want to make cool stuff and have fun. So we decided that every Friday we would do a casual cosplay to secretly get a little cosplaying in.

This, of course, isn't a new idea.  We went to Disneyland last year and had a blast DisneyBounding Peter Pan characters with our kids and my cute parents.  We did not invent DisneyBounding, it's a thing. If you don't know much about DisneyBounding just search on pinterest and you will suddenly feel the burning desire to plan your next Disney trip! I'm sorry and you're welcome. The only difference between DisneyBoundng and FandomBounding is that we opened it up to all fandoms (not just Disney) and you can FandomBound anywhere you choose! Tah Dah! FandomBound Fridays began!

Two weeks ago I did my first FandomBound outfit, Rey from Rise of Skywalker, and I honestly just looked through my closet and pulled out anything and everything cream and white (Labor Day what?)-- this created a problem because I had several different styles that didn't jive. I knew I needed to pare it down and pick a style. My advice for creating a FandomBound outfit is first pick a character then pick a style. Are you feeling causal? Formal? Vintage or rebellious? Seeing as I'm feminine to the max (give me a tulle skirt to twirl and a pair of heels any day) I went with a feminine girly Rey. This look includes a simple white shirt, white flowy cardigan that I criss-crossed with a brown belt (stole that from Skyler, thanks honey!), cream tulle skirt, tan booty boots, and a bit of bling with a Millenium Falcon necklace (in full disclosure, I found the necklace after we did this FandomBound).

To create the look you see above, I hopped on Amazon and searched for similar items to what I wore. Now you can get this same look and, bonus, I think the clothes I found online are more cohesive than what I came up with in the first place! Amazon is a magical place. Feel free to shop this same outfit or use it as inspiration to create your own Rey FandomBound. Will you be FandomBounding Rey to work? What do you think of feminine Rey? Chat me up in the comments and tag us on your posts if you join in (especially if you do this outfit) FandomBounding to work! Use the hashtag #FandomBoundFriday and let's get our sneaky casual cosplay on!

Thanks for reading! Cosplay on, my friend!

Love,

Olivia
